Jamie Gorelick

Jamie Gorelick is currently a partner and litigator with WilmerHale, her sense of civic duty to her country continued post serving as the U.S. Deputy Attorney General and The National Commission. She has offered her knowledge and experience to various mediums, from lectures at academic institutions to National Public Radio (NPR) to News Media outlets. She shared her experiences and lessons because she gained a significant perspective from her role as Deputy Attorney General. In 1994, Ms. Gorelick joined the 9/11 Commission. Because of Jamie Gorelick’s direct involvement with the 9/11 commission, her perspective is a valuable source for learning about the historical event of September 11.

Jamie Gorelick spoke at Duke Law School, relating her experience as the 9/11 Commissioner, to contribute to Duke’s Program in Public Law, featuring a series on the war on terror and the aftermath of 9/11. During the lecture at Duke, Jamie Gorelick said: "I felt I was helping to do something that could make a real difference. I felt that I was helping to get the truth out and that can, indeed, set you free. I enjoyed working in a bipartisan environment, and I hope that the example might encourage others in Washington to do the same."
